Accept Your Faults

Adjective – Taking place or existing within the mind

Do not let your need to defend yourself blind you from what you are doing. You are not always right, and it is important to accept when you are wrong regardless of how it is brought to your attention. To continue to a better version of yourself it is important to be able to accept when you are at fault. If you do not accept it then you should not expect yourself to be able to fix the problem at hand.

Accepting your faults is only step one. When you don’t accept when you’re wrong you repeat the same mistakes.

It is only human for us to make mistakes, but it is foolish for us to repeat them. We cannot claim to be smart when we drown ourselves in stupid actions. It’s a shame to waste potential on things that are meaningless. If you are going to do something, do it right.  You have to give it every part of you. When you start, don’t wait for results or stop to see what you have done – keep going. That pause to look and reflect over your recent “triumphs” leaves you vulnerable to slipping back.

A man must be big enough to admit his mistakes, smart enough to profit from them, and strong enough to correct them

-John C. Maxwell
